Envoy encourages Belarusians to open shops in China

China is the most dynamic market in the world, Belarusian Ambassador Kiryl Rudy believes.

According to him, Belarusian goods are available in China, but they are sold by local businesses. As a result, products ‘made in Belarus’ go up in price by 700-800% on their way to the Chinese shelves due to a large number of intermediaries.

It is high time Belarusian companies start producing goods and open shors and in China, the diplomat told state-run TV channel Belarus 1.

“For example, Beijing’s GDP is comparable with that of Sweden; the GDP of only one district of Shanghai is three times as much as that of entire Belarus. One city, or even its district is enough for us. If we enter it, we could stay there forever,” Rudy said.

Compared with the same period of last year, in H1 2018 the Belarusian-Chinese trade value has increased by more than 120%. However, our country’s purchase quantity is eight times the size of the goods it sells to China.

This year, Belarusian food products have become one of the major breakthroughs in the mutual trade. Our country is expected to export milk and meat to the tune of $100 mln to China.
