On Sunday, February 28, Belarusian businessmen openly protested in favor of the abolition of the Decree 222, which limited their ability to trade non-certified, but cheap goods from the Russian wholesale depots.

According to SPs, suppliers do not provide them with the appropriate documents. The authorities offered them to sell expensive goods of domestic light industry.

Previous SP protests in Minsk took place on 15 and 22 February. They were mostly attended by businessmen from the regions.

The protest rally of 28 February was attended by opposition politicians, including the leader of the United Civil Party Anatol Lyabedzka and co-chairman of the organizing committee of the Belarusian Christian Democracy party Paval Sevyarynets.
