Ihar Karpenka, who has been heading the Ministry of Education of Belarus since 2016, commented in an interview to Nasha Niva on students being urged to vote early.

“The teacher also has a certain civic position. And there’s nothing wrong with a teacher, dean or rector explaining to students what events are taking place, how they happen, what is needed for that,” said the Minister.

At the same time, according to him, students shouldn’t be forced to vote.
