Dissatisfied workers fired from Homiel enterprise


According to the independent trade union inspector Leanid Sudalenka, employees’ of the Homielprambud Vitaly Kandrashou and Yauhen Lyashuk were dismissed from the enterprise without fulfilling legal requirements after they did not agree to the 20% reduction of the tariff rate.

The trade union representative said that the dismissed men were truck crane machinists of one of the Homielprambud enterprise. The workers sued the employer demanding to reinstate them at work and pay wages in full.

Up until January 5th 2016 the men worked on indefinite employment contracts.

“The laid-off workers joined our independent trade union. I’m going to defend their interests in court and I am convinced they will be to reinstated,” said Leanid Sudalenka.

The lawyer added that after the lawsuit was filed, the employer immediately paid the workers trasferring money to their bank accounts.
