Detentions at Saturday's Women's March in Minsk

The seventh Women’s March took place in the capital on September 26. Since the last presidential election, women have taken to the streets of Minsk every Saturday to protest against police brutality.

The rally on September 26 was called “Rehearsal of Svyatlana Tsikhanouskaya’s inauguration”. An hour before the start of the march, the organizers announced the change in the meeting place. Instead of Victory Square, women were encouraged to come to the Kamarousky market.

The human rights center “Viasna” made a list of the names of 124 women detained during the march.

Belsat journalist Maryia Hryts was detained at Kamarouski market. It was also reported that the flag was taken from Nina Bahinskaya, but she was later released.
