Three crews of Belarus’ MAZ-SPORTauto team completed the second stage of the Dakar-2019 rally raid in Peru. The Belarusians took 11th-13th places.
The results could have been better, but Syarhei Vyazovich’s MAZ, who was about to overtake a Russian crew, ran into a sand trap at great speed and just 200 metres away from the finish.
The damaged vehicle was taken out of sand. The pilots were not injured. The race was won by the Russians.
The eleven-day rally raid will end on January, 17 in the city of Lima.
