Costly Lenin: Russians to pay $200K to preserve embalmed leader

Preservation of Lenin was ordered by the Russian Federal Protective Service.

The public procurement contract for preserving the communist leader in 2016 is worth $197 thousand. The service will be provided by a single supplier.

Recently, the FSO made public procurement for Putin’s residence in the Tver region. Then for “Rus” were bought tights for $13,500, bras and leather whips.

The question of Lenin’s burial in recent years was raised often enough. Many people advocate the “liberation from the heavy legacy of the communist regime”, but there are opponents of putting to earth the remains of the Soviet symbol.

Lenin died on January 21, 1924. His body was balmed after death and placed in a mausoleum on Red Square in Moscow.
