Che Guevara’s son shows up at motorcycle event in Minsk

Ernesto Guevara, a 53-year-old son of the famous revolutionary and fan of of motor racing, took part in H.O.G Rally Minsk 2018.

Four years ago, he set up a travel agency La Poderosa Tours that specializes in arranging motorcycle trips for foreign tourists around Cuba – retracing his father’s steps.

“La Poderosa stemmed from my passion for motorcycles and love for Cuba,” he once told the Telegraph.

The name of the company refers to the way Che Guevara called his motorcycle. In 1952 he set off on a nine-month trip in South America.

Ernesto Che Guevara’s son did not take any of his motorcycles to Minsk. In the Belarusian capital he rode a motorcycle rented from the organizers of the rally. He drove from the Mount of Glory to the Palace of Sports.

The event was also attended by Viktar Lukashenka, the eldest son of the Belarusian president, and Interior Minister Ihar Shunevich who is notorious for his respect for Josef Stalin and the Soviet era.
