The Ministry of Transport plans to repair and reconstruct 32 bridges in the country. For these purposes, the agency hopes to attract funds from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development.
As part of the reconstruction, it is envisaged not only to conduct cosmetic work, but to replace the supporting structures, the Minister of Transport and Communications Anatol Sivak said during a meeting with journalists. According to the official, the load they were designed for initially simply does not meet the requirements of the country’s economy.
“Our task is to refurbish these 32 bridges within five years. We negotiated with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, they agreed to an agreement, ” said Anatoly Sivak.
The exact amount of investment needed was not reported. The Ministry of Transport reports that the reconstruction will not be immediate.
