Brazen theft: ‘Crimea’ taken away from Moscow’s Tretyakov gallery


An unknown individual stole Ai-Petri.Crimea, a picture by Russian landscape painter Arkhip Kuindzhi, from the State Tretyakov Gallery on Sunday.

According to eyewitnesses, the offender who was dressed in black just unframed the painting and left in front of visitors. The fact was confirmed by the Russian Ministry of Culture.

On January 28, the man has been detained, the Interior Ministry reports. He is involved in another criminal case, Russian law enforcers state.
