Blogger Syarhei Pyatruhin detained in Brest

The activist was detained at the border crossing when he was returning from Poland.

On March 14, 2017, Syarhei Pyatruhin was sentenced in absentia to 15 days in jail for participating in the ‘non-parasites’ rally.

In court, the witness, who was a police officer, said that the blogger Pyatruhin used his camera to “provoke people”. The court decided to punish the activist by 15 days of arrest.

Syarhei Pyatruhin is a well-known videoblogger from Brest who exposes corruption schemes used by the authorities and tells about it on his youtube-channel called “People’s Reporter”.
