Blog 1863x.com pranks Russian 'insider' Telegram channel

Zyanon Paznyak is helping Uladzimir Makey get the support of the West, while Makey is helping Paznyak raise the BPF rating in Belarus — this informational was posted online by the infamous Russian Telegram channel “Nezigar”.

The “insider” channel “with sources in the Kremlin” became the victim of a prank by the Belarusian blog 1863x.com. This showed the value of the Russian media sphere in Belarus.

Is there smoke without fire?

The “Nezigar” telegram-channel has more than 160 thousand readers and became particularly known this and last year thanks to publications of various rumors and more or less questionable information from the corridors of the Russian government — from the info about new appointments to the info about illegitimate children.

Gradually, the channel even became a source, to which Russian state and non-state media refer. Among the readers of the channel were deputies and ministers, journalists and editors of the media, even diplomatic representations of other states.

Who exactly is behind the channel is unknown, but ‘Russia_calls’ bloggers on the website “Kashin.Guru” claim that they found at least one person — it is the director for strategic communications of the Russian business group “Renova” Andrei Shtorkh.

‘Renova’ is under the control of Viktor Vekselberg, the richest man in Russia who is considered to be a confidant of Vladimir Putin and is under US sanctions in connection with the Kremlin’s aggression against Ukraine.

Attack on Belarus

Although previously “Nezigar” did not pay any attention to the local situation for months, recently, it began to actively write on the Belarusian theme, Eduard Palchys‘ blog 1863x.com noted.

“Lukashenka is dissatisfied with Sidorsky’s work of protecting the interests of the Belarusian industry in Moscow … Putin showed Lukashenka his place … Nazarbayev loudly resented the fact that the youngest son of Lukashenka is sitting at the same table with the heads of state at the SCO summit (Shanghai Cooperation Organization) in China … Money laundering is taking place via the Belarusian ІТ and the free market of crypto currency,” this is the kind of “positive” news Nezigar began to spread in 2018.

The last straw was the “inside” that Alyaksandr Lukashenka had a stroke. However, given the key role of this person in the system of the modern Belarusian government, spreading of such rumors already equals a full-fledged attack not only on Lukashenka, but is already a threat to the state.

.

“Unfortunately, even those Belarusians who consider themselves democratic and progressive are closely following the Russian media sphere. They follow the news of Moscow much more than the news of Minsk,” notes 1863x.com. Accordingly, there came up an idea to show how little you can believe any Russian “authorities”.

‘Aleks to Eustace’

A letter was sent to “Nezigar” containing obviously unreliable information. “We began to write in the spirit of comedy conspiracy, which would make anyone who follows Belarusian events laugh. It was enough to keep to the rhetoric of the ‘working monkeys’ from Regnum,” the 1863x.com report states.

And “Nezigar” took the bait

“It was hard to believe that they would swallow it. A couple of requests to Google and an easy fact-checking would show that something was amiss. Zyanon Paznyak never supported Hillary Clinton and severely criticized the Democratic Party of the United States,” the Belarusian blog writes.

Information hygiene

“Nezigar” has already deleted the message about “cooperation between Paznyak and Makey”, but has just published an “insider” from Eduard Palchys himself — allegedly an agent of the Belarusian KGB.

“For years I have written that I work for the OAC [Operational Analytical Center under the President of Belarus]. Even in this case they were not able to publish a proper ‘insider’ and do fact-checks. And, really, KGB – WHERE IS MY MONEY?” Palchys wrote jokingly.

1863x.com notes that Russian media have increasingly focused on anti-Belarusian propaganda, the spreading of fake information about events in Belarus for Russian readers. Indirectly, but quite significantly, this affects the Russian-speaking Belarusians who have remained in the Russian information space.

“For already a year we have been trying to convey a simple idea in social networks: the Russian media space is false, toxic, harmful to the brain and psyche,” writes 1863x.com.
