No volunteers to invest in oil exploration in Belarus

The Belarusian Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources has been in search of investors who would like to prospect for oil in the vicinity of Naroulya and Yelsk.

No one, however, expressed their readiness by the end of the time frame specified (May, 31).

Thus, the officials have had to extend the deadline. Now candidates can apply until November 30 and the tenders will be examined on 1 March 2017.

More  recently, about 1.6 mln tons of crude oil per year was extracted in Belarus.
