Belstat: Belarus visited by 300K tourists in 2015


The National Statistics Committee claims that the number of foreign visitors in Belarus increased by 2.2 times since last year.

Last year Belarus was attended by 300 thousand foreign tourists, stated National Statistical Committee. It also claims that in 2014, the number of tourists averaged 137.4 thousand (about 2.2 times fewer than in the previous year).

Most often Belarus gets visited by Russians. The most frequent visitors from countries outside the CIS were tourists from Germany, China, Italy, Lithuania, Latvia, Poland, France and Estonia.

According to official statistics, the time foreigners spent in Belarus also has increased — an average of 5 days in the past year (the year before – 4 days).

According to the National Statistics Committee, over the year, the number of Belarusians traveling across the country has increased significantly — 91.5 thousand people compared to 56.2 thousand people the year before.
