Belsat TV celebrates 8th birthday in Minsk and Warsaw, awards best authors

Belsat TV has reviewed the results of the 8th year of its work and acknowledged authors of the best materials in 2015. Festive events were held in Minsk.

On December 10, 2007, the International Human Rights Day, TV channel Belsat began its satellite broadcast.

The first independent television station in Belarus has been working ‘in the Belarusian language and without any uncensorship’ for eight years. Our writers bring you reliable information, looking for unusual people and exploring important events at home and abroad.

The work on the channel was done by a team of journalists from Poland and Belarus under the leadership of Agnieszka Romaszewska-Guzy.

Legendary Belarusian rocksinger Lyavon Volski and his band performed their greatest hits for our team in Warsaw.[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]

[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]Agnieszka Romaszewska-Guzy congratulated the team and Belarusians in general on the first-ever Nobel Prize.

“Thanks to Svetlana Alexievich and the Nobel Committee, the bud of freedom and civil society that we are creating together. Has received a great gift from the fortune. The Nobel Prize often has explosive power – it can change the world for the better and destroy prison walls. I wish you, the representatives of the independent Belarusian elite, were able to adequately assess the value of this gift and used it for the good of your homeland. We, Belsat TV team, have a double reason for joy: paradoxically, the Nobel Prize by Svetlana Alexievich helped us once again prove the importance of our project for building the Belarusian national community. Over the recent days we have been performing a mission of public television in Belarus, we have completed the tasks of national television which state-run TV channels refused to take on. Belsat TV is the only television that has brought awarding the Nobel Prize to Svetlana Alexievich to the level which corresponds to the historical significance of this event,” Belsat TV Director stressed.[/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=”62706″ img_size=”large”][vc_column_text]Agnieszka Romaszewska Guzy
