Belsat TV cameraman released. He may face trial over alleged cursing


Alyaksandr Lyubyanchuk was detained during Friday’s search in one of Belsat TV offices in Minsk and taken to Pershamayski district police department.

The policemen claim that he was using bad language at the police station. A protocol was drawn upon the cameraman.

Ales Lyubyanchyk was told he would spend the oncoming weekend in a detention center, but later he was released. At the same time, he still may face a trial over ‘disorderly conduct’.

Ales Barazenka, another contributor to Belsat TV, was arrested on March 25 when covering the protest march in Minsk and later sentenced to 15 days in jail. According to riot policemen who were witnessing in court Ales was shouting, waving his hands, using bad language.
