Belsat journalist Katsyaryna Andreyeva to face another trial


Belsat journalist Katsyaryna Andreyeva, detained on September 12, will be tried in three administrative cases. One of the protocols was filed up last week.

As it was recently reported, the materials of the administrative case under Art. 22.9 (violation of the law on the media) were transfered to court last week. It was the work of Katsyaryna Andreyeva during the campaign meeting of Lukashenka’s proxy Andrei Kryvasheyeu, which took place on July 27 that became the basis for the protocol. At the time, Kryvasheyeu experienced a wave of popular anger, people at the meeting expressed their indignation at the actions of the authorities.

The court date for this protocol has not yet been set.

Katsyaryna Andreyeva has been at Akrestsina Street jail since September 12. Along with cameraman Maks Kalitouski, she was detained during a live broadcast from the Women’s March. Our journalists were charged with violation of the law on the media and disobedience to the police. Before the trial, they were placed in the remand prison. The materials of this administrative case have not yet been submitted to the court.
