Belsat contributor detained during Sunday’s rally in Minsk

The police detained Belsat cameraman Ales Lyubyanchuk who was performing his journalistic duties during Sunday’s Partisan March in the Belarusian capital.

The media worker was taken to Kastrychnitski district police department of Minsk, where he is likely to await trial.

Lyubyanchyk is charged with Article 23.4 of the Code of Administrative Offences (disobedience to acting official’s order or requirement). If found guilty, he may face a fine or administrative arrest.

On October 6, Ales Lyubyanchuk was released from prison after serving a 12-day term. Our contributor was grabbed on September 24, then placed under detention and heavily fined for working without accreditation (Art. 22.9).
