Belarusian fans have bought 109 tickets for the Olympic Games in Brazil, the most expensive ticket cost almost BYN 3,000.
According to Deputy Chief Accountant of the enterprise “Tiketpro” Aksana Lipai, the most expensive ticket bought by Belarusians cost BYN 2,866.14; the cheapest cost BYN 204,03, BelTA reports.
Majority of them are tickets for the opening and closing ceremonies (42 tickets). Belarusians will also go to support the athletes competing in athletics competitions, boxing, sports and gymnastics, water sports, tennis.
“In general, there was not much hype around the tickets for the Olympic Games. This could have been affected by a number of factors, including various kinds of fears associated with a visit to Brazil, considerable financial spendings on travel and stay in the country. As the Olympics were nearing and as our athletes won Olympic licenses, Belarusians expressed interest in tickets for some sports, but in the last few months there were only bought a few tickets,” said Aksana Lipai.
The XXXI Summer Olympic Games will be held from 5 to August 21 in Brazil. The main venue will be Rio de Janeiro. Competitions will also be held in Sao Paulo, Brasilia, Belo Horizonte and Salvador. “Tiketpro” is the official distributor of tickets for Rio 2016 in Belarus.
If we take into account that the population of Belarus is officially 9.5 million people, about 0.001% of the citizens of Belarus will go to the Olympics.
