Belarusian military to take part in exercises near EU border

As part of the “Interaction-2016” drill near the NATO borders, CSTO forces will practice “localizing areas of armed conflict.”

Exercises will be held in the Pskov region.

On August 13 Belarusian military headed to the the “Interaction-2016” command-staff exercises with the military forces of the Collective Rapid Response Forces (CRRF) of the Collective Security Treaty, the press service of the Belarusian Defense Ministry reports.

Exercises will be held in three stages. In the first stage, there will be held a command-line meeting of the RRF. During the second phase of the exercise, participants will plan a joint operation, interaction and direct training of the CORF contingents to perform various tasks.

In the third phase, the military will localize areas of armed conflict and the destroy illegal armed groups.

Besides Belarusians the exercises will involve the armed forces of Armenia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia and Tajikistan.

The next exercises will take place in Belarus

From 23 to 27 August there will be held the following major exercises – “Indestructible Brotherhood 2016”. At this time, the military contingents of CSTO will practice near the border of Poland and Ukraine – at the Arbuz-Lesnovsky range near Baranavichy.
