Belarusians of the world to hold 'intercontinental' race on Freedom Day

On the eve of the anniversary of the BPR proclamation, Belarusians living abroad are planning to arrange a race. “In any country, at any time, on any distance, without restrictions. It’s the Freedom Day,” the organizers say.

Belarusians from different countries like the USA, Argentina, Poland, Brazil, Thailand and Sri Lanka have confirmed their participation. In addition, foreigners are in solidarity with Belarusians. For example, the well-known in Belarus Spanish poet Angela Espinosa Ruiz also plans to take part in the race.

“The goal is to celebrate Freedom Day and gather running Belarusians in different parts of the world, and run together, despite the distance and time zones, to feel that we are together. We will run on the 24th, and the third charter was accepted from 24 to 25, and on the 25th it was already celebrated. So we will “run out” our kilometers, and on Freedom Day we will count how many we had run together and watch the broadcast from the opera,” said one of the organizers Volha Yermalayeva Franco, who now lives in Brazil.

The conditions of participation in the race are the following: run on March 24, an arbitrary distance at a convenient pace, recording the run using a special application. Then take a picture with the national flag, the coat of arms or in the colors of the flag and put a photo and a link to the result of jogging on social networks with the hashtag #belarus100run.

First it was planned to get together ten people from different continents, so that each ran 10 kilometers, which would give a total of 100, 100 years of BNR. “But we had so many people respond on the first day, that it became clear: we need to expand the format, it’s impossible to limit people on the Freedom Day,” Volha added. – If a person wants to run, they do not have to be a champion. We are told: if there are no more professional participants, can I join? Everyone can! Let it be your first hundred meters, or the usual training, only with a flag and a hashtag. Let there be a big group like that from the “Belarusian Hut” (San Diego (USA). They wrote that they already have ten people, or there will not be anyone else in your locality — we are still together “.
