There were arrests in the Russian capital.
Several dozen protesters with signs came to the Belarusian embassy in Kyiv. They also burned the Russian flag.
No flags were burned in Vilnius. An action of solidarity was held near the Belarusian embassy there as well. The picket was also timed to coincide with the birthday of Alyaksandr Lukashenka:
“Bring a gift to the bloody dictator for his birthday” was the motto spread the day before.
Despite the heavy rain, not only local Belarusians, but also people of different nationalities and political views gathered for the rally.
Three people were detained near the Belarusian embassy in Moscow: two activists of the nationalist organization SERB and one protesting against Lukashenka. SERB snatched the poster from his hand.
