Belarusian volunteer groups blocked in Russian social networks

Russian social network “Odnoklassniki” has blocked the Belarusian volunteer community from the group “Pusuit” (Pahonya).

Last weekend, “Odnoklassniki” blocked the “Pusuit” community consisting of nearly 3,000 subscribers, Belsat.eu learned from the “Pursuit” press service.

This is how the link ok.ru/belpahonia opens now. The official reason for blocking by the social network is “nationalism” and is in line with the network’s own regulations. It is unclear if the community is blocked exclusively on the territory of Belarus.

It should be stressed that the public unit of the community is engaged in volunteer work: helping soldiers, disseminating information, organizing cultural events.

Another group – volunteers from the Task Force “Belarus” – was blocked by the Belarusian authorities of “VKontakte”. The corresponding decision was taken by the Ministry of Information. There was no official announcement, the reasons were not specified.

There are now thousands of social networking communities promoting not only participation in illegal armed groups, but also racial and ethnic hatred.

A striking example is the community of the Russian ultra-right paramilitary organization called ENOT Corp. Its leadership, former fighters of so-called “LDPR”, openly sell things of the killed Ukrainian soldiers.

Similarl communities somehow manage to avoid blocking on the territory of Belarus.
