Belarusian state statistics: Belarus industry lost 200K workers over 6 years


The info appeared in statistical book “Republic of Belarus Industry 2017”.

According to the Belarusian National Statistics Committee, in 2011, 184,000 people worked in the domestic industry. In 2016, the number of industrial workers dropped to 895,000.

Official statistics show a decrease in the number of industrial enterprises, too. In 2011–2016 the number of industrial enterprises dropped by 584.

The share of low-tech industrial increased from 26.7% to 35.1%, and medium tech enterprises now have a smaller share in the structure of Belarusian industry. The share of high-tech enterprises has increased from 1.7% to 2.9%, according to National Statistical Committee.
