Belarusian man tries to bribe Polish border guard to avoid paying fine


A Belarusian citizen has offered a bribe to a Polish border guard official. As a result, the Belarusian was detained. The incident occurred at the border crossing Babrouniki on January 12.

According to the press office of the Podlasie border service, the driver of a heavy truck tried to give 10 euros to a Polish border guard officer in order not to get a penalty for the absence of a written “ADR instruction” necessary for passing the control.

A 34-year-old Belarusian citizen was detained for attempting to bribe a Polish official. The driver pleaded guilty to the offence. As a result, the prosecutor punished a citizen of our country with a year of imprisonment with a conditional postponement of his execution for two years, and a fine of 1,000 zlotys ($ 280).
