As First Deputy Chairman of the “Francisk Skaryna Belarusian Language Society” Alena Anisim told TUT.BY, the certificate of legal registration of was received by the private educational institution on March 15.
Currently, the founder of the National University – “Francysk Skaryna BLS” – is consulting with the Ministry of Education to obtain a license and start recruiting and teaching students.
“In order for the university to start recruiting students, carry out training and research activities, we need to obtain a license. To do this, we must take certain steps: prepare the relevant documents, find the premises — buy or rent. Therefore, we are consulting with the Ministry of Education to do everything in accordance with the law, with the norms and standards that are stipulated in the education system for such institutions. “
Former head of the organization, Aleh Trusau, was nominated for the post of rector. However, the final decision will be taken by the Ministry of Education.
The university will be funded from several sources.
“We are considering business strategies based on needs. We do not exclude any sources of financing, including state partnership. If we approve specialties in which the state is interested, then, naturally, we will also pave our way to these sources. We will also talk with the business community. First, they may be interested in training specific specialists. Secondly, perhaps, they will be ready to participate in the establishment of scholarship schemes. ”
At the moment, the BLS is developing the structure of the National University. It was named in honor of Nil Hilevich, the Belarusian national poet and the first chairman of the BLS.
