Belarusian Gulliver: Monument to world’s tallest man appears in Vitsebsk

A sculptural composition in honour of Fyodar Makhnou, a native of the Belarusian city of Vitsebsk, has been put near the City Hall.

It includes a sculpture and a stone, on which the the Belarusian Gulliver’s life years (1878 – 1912) are set. The monument called Vitsebsk Volat (Giant) was made by sculptor Ivan Kazak. It is full-size – Fyodar Makhnou was 285 centimeters tall.

The composition cost Vitsebsk residents 74,776 Belarusian rubles. The official opening will take place on 23 June, Vitsebsk’s Day of the City.
