Belarus-China minibuses assembled in Brest


By the end of this year, Brestmash is planning to produce the first banch of minibuses. Components for 35 passenger minibuses and 15 cargo vans have already been delivered from China. Belarusian assembly workers are currently adopting the assembly technology.

Brestmash became part of the BelavtoMAZ holding back in 2013, vb.by reports. Its management company is Minsk Automobile Plant (MAZ). The latter, together with Brestmash, is implementing a big project — the assembly of passenger and cargo minibuses from the components of the Chinese company JAC Motors. The official names of future cars are MAZ-281040 (passenger, 16 seats) and MAZ-365022 (cargo).

The body is designed by the Italian branch of the Chinese company JAC Motors. From the outside, the Belarusian-Chinese car resembles the popular Mercedes-Benz Sprinter..

The individual parts of the interior were developed by the Japanese branch of JAC Motors. Cars will have a six-speed manual gearbox, and the engine will comply with the environmental standard Euro-5. The passenger version is designed for 16 passengers and a driver.

The prices have not yet been announced, the factory representative promised that the cars will cost as much as the Russian Gazelles — about 30 thousand dollars.
