Belarusian-born Andrew Maximov on Forbes 30 Under 30 list


27-year-old Andrew Maximov (Andrey Maximau) has been put on the FORBES 30 Under 30 list in the category ‘Games’.

“Maximov is the technical art director at Naughty Dog, the lauded creators of blockbuster titles like 2016’s Uncharted 4. Following his work on Uncharted: The Lost Legacy, Maximov is now focused on the highly anticipated sequel, The Last of Us: Part II. Andrew often gives lectures at events like GDC on the intersection between art and technology,” his Forbes profile reads.

Andrew Maximov started his career when he was 18. He worked for Wargaming company, where he contributed to developing The World Of Tanks. He was a student of the Belarusian State University, but dropped out.

In one of his presentations, he said that he came from small country in the middle of Europe. Maximov added he did not believe in talent, but in interest and enthusiasm.

His motto is ‘The only difference between you and the person you want to be is what the latter did not give up when they had a chance.’

At the moment, Maximov lives in California and works 70 hours a week.
