Belarusian attempts to smuggle 1.8 kg of cocaine into China

A citizen of Belarus, who was carrying drugs in jackets, was arrested at Pudong Airport as far back as late July, the Shanghai authorities report.

Four articles of warm clothes in the man’s luggage caught the attention of customs officers. The carrier was flying from Zimbabwe to Shanghai through Addis Ababa.

According to the China News, in recent years, the Chinese customs have repeatedly arrested smugglers of clothes steeped in the drug solution.

Checking the clothing found, Chinese customs officers traced some amount of cocaine. Later, experts managed to extract more than 1.8 kg of the drug from the jackets weighing 5,432 grams.

China inflicts severe penalties on drug traffickers; the Belarusian may even face the death sentence.
