Belarusian freestyle skier Hanna Huskova won the first place in aerials at the 2018 Olympic Games in Pyeongchang.
At the airport she has been met by dozens of journalists and fans. Hanna, who was looking tired confused but happy, answered a few questions.
“I am still in shock, I cannot believe that I really won. It is as if I never made a showing at the Olympics. I would like to have a rest, I need mental relaxation. At the moment I hardly feel anything, I am empty. Therefore, there are no words.
My parents and friends congratulated me and then… the entire Belarus seems to have sent nice words to me.
It is nice of them, but so many people… it is unusual, even a little scary. It is hard to believe that so many people were supporting our team.
When I was in Pyeongchang, so much attention did not make me nervous. People came to see us. It was the second Olympic Games [I participated in], and I knew where I was going.
I do not know what I will do next. I will consult my coaches.”
The plane with the athletes landed in Minsk at 12:40.
