The most important targets of the growth of labour productivity, exports and GDP were missed, Syarhei Rumas stressed. In his opinion. the GDP growth slowed down due to the negative dynamics in the key sectors of the economy – industry, transport and trade. The systemic problem of the lack of working capital is not being solved either, he added.

The head of the government instructed officials to develop and implement concrete measures to meet the target figures and pay special attention to issues of cost reductions and productivity growth.

Over the recent months, Prime Minister Syarhei Rumas has been personally responsible for ensuring the economic growth of the country, mainly through external demand. Belarus President Alyaksandr Lukashenka signed the relevant decree on May, 20.
