The UEFA Super Cup 2021 which the Belarusian authorities wanted to hold will be held in Northern Ireland’s Belfast, the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) reports.

Apart from Belfast, there were Minsk, Helsinki, and Kharkiv who also applied to the UEFA for Super Cup.

However, in Belarus, a women’s championship among girls under 19 years old will be held in 2021.

On September 19, the Belarusian leader met with UEFA head Aleksander Čeferin in Minsk. Alyaksandr Lukashenka promised to do everything possible to hold the Super Cup — “no worse than the best capitals of our continent”.

He also complained that UEFA did not spoil Belarus with “major football events”.
