Belarus MP: Buy smart watches and keep eye on your kids!

Aksana Nekhaychyk, a member of the lower chamber of the Belarusian parliament, has commented on the recent initiative of Education Minister Ihar Karpenka.

The Ministry of Education paid particular attention to security in schools after February’s tragic accident in the Belarusian town of Stoubtsy where a teacher and a student were killed in the school. Then, president Alyaksandr Lukashenka said that schools lacked order and promised to hold the Minister of Education responsible for it. As a result, Ihar Karpenka received a reprimand and offered to restrict the use of mobile phones in Belarusian schools.

Nekhaychyk, a seasoned educator, urged Belarusian parents to purchase smart watches for their children – instead of mobile phones.

“Moms and dads tend to be constantly in touch with their kid, to trace their. But in this case, there is a good alternative to a mobile phone – a smart watch that allow you to monitor the child’s stay in any place of a city,” news portal minsknews.by quotes the lawmaker.

Some models of smartwaches have the SOS function, i.e. an emergency call to parents, GPS-tracker (so, movements of its wearer can be tracked) and an active microphone which parents can use to eavesdrop their offspring’s talks.
