Belarus currency earnings fall by quarter

In January-February 2015, Belarus’ foreign exchange earnings declined by a quarter compared to the same period last year to $ 4.85 billion. According to the National Bank, this is the lowest figure since 2011.

Belarus foreign exchange earnings from exports of goods amounted to $3.76 billion (down $ 1.5 billion). At the same time, foreign exchange earnings from exports to Russia decreased by $ 918.6 million, telegraf.by reports.

There was also recorded a drop in the volume of imports into the country. In January-February, Belarus paid 4.31 billion, which is one third less than in 2014. Payment of imports of goods decreased by 34.7% and import of services – by 24.7%.
