Belarus citizen behind illegal migration channel to EU

A 57-year-old citizen of Belarus, who established a channel of illegal migration to the Euopean Union, was arrested at the Russian-Ukrainian border.

According to the Belarusian State Border Committee, Russia’s FSB detained the Belarusian, who was on the international wanted list, at the Suzemka checkpoint.

“The man is one of the organizers of the illegal migration channel from Russia to the EU through Belarus. In this connection, Belarusian border guards opened a criminal case against him in May 2018,” the statement reads.

At the moment, the question his extradition to Belarus is being discussed.
