Belarus turns out to be in the public limelight after the termination of the Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces Treaty, President Alyaksandr Lukashenka said upon hearing out a report of Raman Halouchanka, Chairman of the Belarusian State Military Industrial Committee.

According to him, Belarus is adamantly opposed to the deployment of such types of weapons in Europe.

Being ‘in this ыpot, in a hot political point’, Belarus cannot but pay attention to its own security, Lukashenka stressed.

He asked Mr Halouchanka about the activity of the committee, as well as the operation of Baranavichy- and Orsha-based aircraft repair plants and a communication equipment company in the town of Baran. The release of the latest models of weapons was also on the agenda.

Alyaksandr Lukashenka recalled that Belarus had already had a medium-range missile developed. There are also plans to produce even more powerful weapon by increasing the range of the missiles on the basis of the country’s partnership with China, he added.
