Babaryka's headquarters issues statement about rejected signatures

Maryia Kalesnikava, Viktar Babaryka’s Chief of Staff, has made a video address about non-recognition of the signatures.

“If you want to know the value of your opinion in the eyes of the authorities, read the news,” Maryia Kalesnikava, Chief of Staff, told people signed in favor of Viktar Babaryka.

She noted that what is happening now is the result of the actions of the whole system, not just one person: people who vote for the “right” members of the election commission, people who count votes using own math laws, and people who fire their colleagues for T-shirts.

“We urge these people to wake up. There are more of us. They oppose the majority, they are alone.”

Fatal mistakes of the authorities

Maryia Kalesnikava called the actions of the authorities “fatal mistakes”. She says they do not understand that there will not be fewer people. And the signature theft shows how weak the vertical of power is, as the state can’t keep power by some decent means.

She urges not to fall into despair, not to give up, but to spread information:

“Go to your dacha, to your family’s village, and tell them what’s really going on”.

The Chief of Staff noted that now the authorities are checking how far one can go.

“However, they do not take into account one thing: the more the authorities close the doors in front of our nose, the more we gather in front of that door. It is impossible to defeat the majority”.

Viktar Babaryka’s headquarters has submitted 365,000 signatures to the CEC for verification. As a result, the commission approved only 165,744 — almost 200 thousand were declared invalid.
