Authorities want more info about Belarusians going abroad

From May 16 on, persons who purchase tickets for international trains (including e-tickets) in Belarus will have to provide extra personal data.

The change was introduced by the Belarusian Council of Ministers Decree No 240 of April 12, 2019.

Starting today, when buying travel documents, a would-be passenger must name their first name and give the date of birth to ticket sellers in addition to the surname and passport number, the press service of the Belarusian Railways reports.
