City officials are asking for help with cleaning streets, minsknews.by reports.
“During the day, unfavorable meteorological phenomena were observed on the territory of the republic, manifested in heavy precipitation in the form of snow (up to 13 mm), the maximum height of snow cover was 25 cm in the Slutsk district of the Minsk region,” the Ministry of Emergency Situations reported.
On Friday, January 8, heavy snow covered most of the territory of the republic. An orange hazard level was announced.
Minsk is covered with more snow. The Minsk city executive committee cannot cope with the cleaning and asks for help from the businesses.
“We urge business entities not to stand aside but actively engage in snow removal on their own and assigned territories. Only together we can make the city clean and safe,” said Deputy Chairman of the Minsk City Executive Committee Alyaksandr Darakhovich.
