Another Russian journalist set to nominate herself presidential candidate

Russian TV journalist Yekaterina Gordon has voiced her intention to campaign for the presidency in 2018.

Perhaps I will be the only candidate not approved by the presidential administration,” Gordon said in her video message.

Gordon positions herself as an advocate for the rights of single mothers and children.

«Women’s and children’s rights is a mirror of Russian reality,” the anchorwoman said on her website.

According to her, Russia is a country of single mothers, whom ‘no one gives a damn about’.

At the same time, she stresses that there is no hatred of men in her position and views.

Yekaterina Gordon has two children, a ten-year-long career in journalism and her own legal firm.

Earlier, TV host and activist Ksenia Sobchak announced her bid to seek presidency. However, she promised to withdraw from the election if opposition politician Alexei Navalny was registered a presidential candidate.
