Russian opposition politician Alexei Navalny arrested for 30 days


Khimki court in Moscow Region ordered to arrest Russian politician Alexei Navalny for 30 days, until February 15, the lawyer of the opposition politician Vadim Kobzev reports.

Alexei Navalny, who was detained after arriving in Moscow from Berlin, will remain behind bars until February 15. Yesterday, the Khimki District Court in Moscow Region, heard the case right in the Khimki police station and sentenced the politician to 30 days of arrest.

Alexei Navalny was detained because he is wanted for “repeated violations of probation”. In addition, the Russian Investigative Committee opened a criminal case against Navalny for large-scale fraud.

Since August, the politician had been undergoing medical treatment in Germany after being poisoned with Novichok poison. Upon his return to Moscow, the politician was detained at the airport.
