Strangers following Dzyanis Turchanyak

Brest activists have faced pressure from police and unidentified people in plain clothes.

Police and plain clothed men have been watching Brest activists for two days in a row. Yesterday, the police were trying to get into the apartment of Palina Panasyuk-Sharenda and Andrus Sharenda. According to the activist, her apartment is still under surveillance. In the morning, the girl noticed two men in civilian clothes who were sitting near her house.

Dzyanis Tuchanyak, agent of the candidate Syarhei Pyatrukhin, experienced increased interest of unknown people. Mr Turchanyak conducted an experiment in the last presidential elections when he denounced the process of ballot substitution during early voting.

“Yesterday, I noticed that I have been monitored by unknown persons. There was a car with two people in civilian clothes parked near my work place. When I was about to head home, the car followed me, but I was able to lose it. Today, the number of cars doubled. They are waiting for me near each of the exits from work. I believe that this is direct pressure on me as a member of the Syarhei Pyatrukhin’s initiative group,” said Dzyanis Turchanyak to Belsat.eu.
