Activist Leanid Kulakou to spend 10 days in jail

Leanid Kulakou, an activist of the European Belarus civil campaign, will be taken into custody tomorrow.

Earlier, a Minsk court sentenced Kulakou to 10 days in prison for taking part in a picket in support of political prisoners which was held in Kastrychnitskaya Square in Minsk on June, 22.

Then the police did not detain anyone, but they filmed the rally. Later, a number of activists were accused of participating in an unauthorized mass event. Maxim Vinyarski got 15 days in arrest, Volha Nikalaichyk and Leanid Kulakou – 10 days.

In early August, judge Ina Sidarok imposed a fine (BYN 690) on the activist for protesting against holding the joint Russian-Belarusian war game Zapad 2017 in our country.
