Alena Tankachova: Polish institutions have problems with communication

Lack of proper communication channels between European politicians, whether internationally or domestically, bears a significant impact on the quality of their support for the Belarusian political prisoners – thinks human rights activist, Alena Tankachova.

– European strategy and politics are not fully coordinated, which means that Belarusian activists and human rights defenders, who take risks, are not feeling safe. Such situation has a negative impact on the quality of their work. – said Tankachova.

She also addend that Polish authorities have not informed Belarusian dissidents who else might be in danger of getting arrested and whose bank account information were handed over to the Belarusian authorities. – We have a reason to worry, because it is clear that Polish institutions have problems with internal communication, especially the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Prosecutor General office. – Tankachova told Belsat.
