BelaPAN director and editor-in-chief Iryna Leushayna and former agency director Dzmitry Navazhylau have been transferred from the remand prison in Akrestsina street to the detention center in Valadarski street in Minsk, reports Euroradio.
According to Dzmitry Navazhylau‘s wife, she received a parcel for her husband on August 28 at the Valadarka prison. Iryna Leushyna‘s daughter believes that her mother is also in Valadarka.
Leushyna and Navazhylau were detained on 18 August after house and office searches. They are suspects under Article 342 of the Criminal Code (“Organization and preparation of actions that grossly violate public order or active participation in them”). Human rights activists have recognized the detained BelaPAN workers as political prisoners.
