Gas explosion on Polish-Belarusian border leaves person injured


The explosion occurred in a sewer well in the building for vehicle inspection at the border crossing in Kuznica-Belostocka about 16:00 local time on October 28, Remiza.pl reports. The car caught fire, and one person was injured.

The accident was caused by a blowout from a sewage well. The gas had collected, writes Polsat News with reference to the spokesperson of the National Tax Administration, Anita Wielenek. One person was injured and was immediately provided with medical assistance.

A team from the Sokulka county fire department dealt with the consequences of the accident. Polsat News notes that it was impossible to get a comment from the rescuers. The border crossing in Kuznica is now part of the territory under the state of emergency imposed due to the migration crisis on the border with Belarus.

Earlier, Polish border guards found objects imitating bombs at the Polish-Belarusian border. Also, Polish border guards reported that border guards from the Belarusian side had been aiming at the Polish military guarding the border.
