The increase has been reported by the press service of the BNTU. The university explains the change in tuition by an increase in the basic rate and the minimum wage.
The new rates will come into force on September 1, 2021. The average increase is 9.9%. According to the new rate, one will have to pay from 3,996 BYN to 4,263 BYN.
Tuition fees have been raised for first-year students as well. However, previously Syarhei Kaspiarovich, head of the Main Department of Vocational Education of the Ministry of Education of Belarus, said that there were no plans to raise the cost of education for first-year students this year.
Other educational institutions have not yet announced tuition fee increases.
