A new criminal case has been opened against 39-year-old political prisoner Volha Klaskouskaya who has been behind bars now.
She has been recently charged under Art. 369 of the Criminal Code (‘insulting a government official’), human rights centre Viasna reports. According to investigators, Volha Klaskouskaya allegedly insulted a policeman from Brest when commenting on social media. The prisoner posted a comment on October 14 last year.
On December 22, Volha Klaskouskaya was sentenced to two years in prison under Art. 342-1 of the Criminal Code for ‘blocking traffic’ in Serabranka residential area in Minsk. The political prisoner is serving the term in the women’s colony in Homiel.
Volha‘s mother was summoned for questioning in connection with the case.
