Criminal case opened against politician, Tsikhanouskaya’s rep Anatol Lyabedzka
A criminal case has been instituted against Anatol Lyabedzka, a former chairman of the United Civic Party of Belarus (UCPB). However, no further details are known.
His wife Svyatlana is reported to have been summoned by the Minsk police as a witness.
“My wife is to appear at Maskouski district police department of Minsk as a witness in a criminal case against me. Under what article am I charged with? I don’t know yet, but I think it may be the same as those of bloggers Syarhei Pyatrukhin, Pavel Spiryn or politicians Mikalai Statkevich and Pavel Sevyarynets,” Anatol Lyabedzka said in a video published by UCPB Youtube channel.
According to the politician, he has never committed either crimes or significant offences in his life.
Currently, Anatol Lyabedzka is outside Belarus. He is Svyatlana Tsikhanouskaya‘s representative for parliamentary cooperation and constitutional reform.
